๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐:
2 Tbsp butter
2 sweet onions, small diced 1/4โ
2 large shallots, small diced 1/8โ (2.5 oz)
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 cups sour cream (16 oz)
1 cup mayonnaise (7oz)
1 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
Chives for garnish (optional)
๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐:
1. In a large pan, met butter over medium-high heat.
2. Once butter is melted, add in the onion and caramelized for 20 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
3. Add in the shallots and garlic and caramelized for another 10 minutes. Stirring continuously. As water is cooked out of the onions, they will begin to caramelized faster and stirring continuously will reduce the risk of burning them.
4. Set aside onion and garlic mixture until cooled. Approximately 10 minutes
5. In the meantime, in a large bowl, mix together sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper until fully combined.
6. Fold in cooled caramelized onion and garlic mixture.
7. Store in fridge until ready to serve
8. French onion dip can be made the day of but tastes much better if made the day before! Garnish with chives and serve with vegetables, crackers or chips! My favorite is kettle chips!
